A wrap dress, shorts, and an old favorite in a new pattern

From the trip to Joann’s I made this wrap dress. It didn’t quite fit me right but it looks great on my mom. I really liked the tropical flower & parrot print. I also used a cotton to make these shorts for my husband. The pattern at first was HUGE but I was able to tailor it until they fit pretty well. It was very interesting doing a fly and WELT POCKETS. Welt Pockets turned my brain inside out, not just the pocket itself. Again, lots of youtube was involved. I will try to start keeping those videos as a reference here.

I also whipped up the shirt – cotton blue stripes from Mood (no longer just a grid print) and very interesting blue ceramic buttons from Steinlauf & Stroller. The buttons are a little tricky because they seem to rub on the thread and eventually may cut through. I like how unusual they are, so it’s worth it.
